Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist winemakers with sampling from tanks, barrels, and fermentation vats.
  • Support fermentation management (nutrient additions, temperature tracking).
  • Help in preparing and adding fining agents under supervision.
  • Participate in blending trials by preparing samples and documenting results.
  • Observe or assist with filtration processes (crossflow, pad filtration).
  • Assist with water quality testing used in cleaning and winery operations.
  • Follow all lab safety protocols while handling chemicals, glassware, and instruments.
  • Ensure sample labeling accuracy and traceability.
  • Participate in maintaining ISO documentation.
  • Assist cellar operators with sanitation procedures (tanks, hoses, valves).
  • Participate in barrel sampling and record-keeping.
  • Help monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity).
  • Prepare daily/weekly lab result summaries.
  • Help track chemical consumption and stock levels.
  • Support quality management systems with accurate data.
  • Attend training on winemaking processes and cellar equipment.
  • Job shadow senior chemists and enologists.
  • Participate in sensory evaluations (wine tasting for faults and quality indicators).
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
